Player: Nate Ebner

Team: New England Patriots

Position: Safety

Born on December 14th, 1988, in Dublin, Ohio, Ebner didn’t begin his NFL career by originally playing football. He originally began his athletic journey by playing rugby for teams including team USA at the IRB Junior World Championships. At only 17 he was the youngest person to ever play at the National 7s. In 2012 he was picked by the New England Patriots in the sixth round of the 2012 draft and has stayed with them since.

Player: Adam Podlesh

Team: Pittsburgh Steelers

Position: Punter

Born August 11th, 1983, in Rochester, New York, Poldesh is an impressive football player with the records to show for it. Although a three time letterman football player in Pittsford Sutherland High School, he’s also an accomplished track runner and beat the record for the fastest 200 and 400 meter runs in New York while still a junior. He was drafted in 2007 by the Jacksonville Jaguars, but is currently with the Steelers despite being recently placed on their reserve list.

Player: Gabe Carimi

Team: Atlanta Falcons

Position: Offensive Tackle

Born in Lake Forest, Illinois, on June 13th, 1988, Carimi attended Monona Grove High School while becoming a black belt in karate. He was part of his school’s track team, even becoming the captain of it in his final year. He attended University of Wisconsin-Madison in civil engineering, while playing for the school’s team on a scholarship. He was picked by the Chicago Bears in the first round of the 2011 NFL draft.

Although they're not currently on a team, we'd also like to recognize the following free agents:

Player: Antonio Garay

Team: Free agent

Position: Nose Tackle

Born November 30th, 1979, in Rahway, New Jersey, Garay belonged to a Jewish/Catholic family. He attended Rahway High School, where he played both offense and defence, and was named both state, and national, wrestling champion in the late 90’s. Garay first signed on with the Chicago Bears when he started his career, and ended it with the San Diego Chargers in 2012. Although he was signed to the Jets in March of 2013, he left them roughly a month later and never played.

Player: Kyle Kosier

Team: Free agent

Position: Guard

Born on November 27th, 1978, in Peoria, Arizona, Kosier is currently a free agent. He began playing football from an early age and was a letterman player for the Cactus High School, which he attended during his early years. He went on to play at Arizona State University, and was eventually a seventh round pick in the 2002 draft by the 49ers. The last team he played with was the Dallas Cowboys in 2012.
