Over the past month, everyone has been sharing in the anticipated joy of Thanksgivukkah, the rare convergence of Thanksgiving and Hanukkah that won’t happen again for another 77,000 years. But has anyone considered the harm this holiday can cause?

In a new parody film trailer from Funny or Die, comedic actors Nick Kroll, Penny Marshall, and Fred Willard question what would happen if a man is forced to juggle a Thanksgiving dinner and Hanukkah celebration while trying to keep his in-law in the dark about his Jewish heritage.

In a similar over-dramatic style to most mainstream Hollywood romantic comedies, Kroll’s character, Avi, sets himself up for disaster after creating a horrible situation that most likely would’ve never been an issue to begin with. He is seen running back and forth between two separate dinners, attempting to hide signs of where he’s been.

After visiting his parents Hanukkah dinner in the garage, he returns to his in-laws Thanksgiving meal to be asked “What are those? Latkes?” to which he responds “These? No. They’re turkeys, tiny turkeys.”

He continues to make a fool of himself, bringing a cooked menorah back to the Thanksgiving table, tossing dreidels on the table after thanking the Maccabees, and wearing a kippah on top of a pilgrim hat.

Kroll’s friend, played by Kumail Nanjiani, points out the ridiculousness of the situation saying “It seems like a manufactured conflict.”

The narrator states “It’s not actually a problem for anyone, except this guy,” concluding the trailer with “It’s a made-up problem and he is, The Crazy Man’.
