After an incredibly rough summer, Israelis are preparing to celebrate a new year, with Rosh Hashanah taking place this Wednesday. As standard, to thank the members of the Israel Defense Forces for protecting the people of Israel, Israel has supplied two tons of honey and fifteen tons of apples to be given to soldiers throughout the hag (holiday).

As reported by the Jerusalem Post, IDF soldiers and commanders across the bases and military posts in Israel will be provided with 60 tons of meat and fish, 18 tons of turkey, 14 tons of chicken, over 100,000 schnitzels and 12 tons of BBQ meats, including hamburgers and meatballs.

Of course, they’ll also be supplied with tons of bourekas, as well as pomegranates, dried fruits, veggies, and honey cake.

In turn, the IDF have released a Hag Sameach video, relaying to Jews in Israel, and around the world, that they will always stand strong and protect the Jewish State, while wishing everyone a happy, safe, and healthy Rosh Hashanah.

“We are always protecting you, in every place and time. Keeping you safe during the holiday. Shana tova!” says one soldier.

The video depicts several soldiers talking about the holiday in various languages, from Spanish to French to English and, of course, Hebrew, sending a message to a united Jewish people for a stronger and brighter new year.
