Broadway star Idina Menzel sparkled during her Oscar performance of “Let it Go” from the popular animated feature Frozen.

Everything was going smoothly until John Travolta fudged her name introducing her as “Adele Naseem” instead of Idina Menzel. However, it seems that the Wicked star let it slide for her magical performance. It was no surprise that the host of the Academy Awards, Ellen Degeneres, praised it as an “absolutely beautiful” performance.

Menzel had previously performed the original track at the Vibrato in Bell Air, California this past February 9th, earning a standing ovation from the crowd. A quick red carpet interview before the Academy Awards also revealed that she would be trying something different for this performance and “go[ing] with the flow”.

Frozen managed to claim two Oscars during the ceremony: Best Animated Feature and, of course, Best Original Song. The other nominees for best original song were Despicable Me 2’s “Happy”, “Ordinary Love” from Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom and Her’s “The Moon Song”.

In addition to being the 18th film to reach $1 billion worldwide at the box office, Frozen is now the top-grossing original animated film of all time. Menzel’s amazing vocals may have something to do with that.
