Isla Fisher Loves Judaism, Says Marriage to Sacha Baron Cohen is “Not Normal”
The ‘Confessions of a Shopaholic’ actress worries husband is in trouble often
Isla Fisher has finally answered the question we’ve all been wondering; what’s it like being married to Borat, Bruno, Ali G, and General Aladeen?
“It’s definitely not a normal marriage,” Fisher says of her relationship with Sacha Baron Cohen.
“You know there have been times in the past with the guerrilla style film making of Borat and Bruno where there were surreal conversations: “How many people are suing us? Are you wanted in any states? Are you alive?”‘
However, there are many perks to sharing her life with the British actor, Judaism being one of them.
“I love the focus on family, food and laughter,” Fisher told C magazine of her conversion to Judaism.
“You know, I didn’t get to go to university because I’ve been acting since I was a kid…so for me, studying theology was also fascinating. I love Judaism.”
Fisher explains that she hopes to work with her husband professionally one day, but in the meantime co-parenting is more than enough.
“I think we are collaborating on enough. We’re doing our most difficult, most wonderful screenplays: a five year old and a two-year-old at home. I feel that’s the most important collaboration.”
