James Franco to Bring Chuck Palahnuik’s ‘Rant’ to the Big Screen
Can Franco make ‘Rant’ as successful as ‘Fight Club’?

There haven’t been very many people who have attempted to adapt acclaimed author Chuck Palahnuik’s work, but it looks like James Franco may be the only one brave (or arrogant) enough to give it a go.
It is currently being reported by media outlets that the young actor turned director has claimed the rights to Palahnuik’s novel “Rant.”
At the moment it is unclear what Franco’s involvement will be in the film, whether he will act, produce, direct or all three, but based on the plot, it looks like audiences will be in for a wild ride.
According to Amazon the novel tells the story of Buster “rant” Casey who “just may be the most efficient serial killer of our time. A high school rebel, Rant Casey escapes from his small town home for the big city where he becomes the leader of an urban demolition derby called Party Crashing. Rant Casey will die a spectacular highway death, after which his friends gather the testimony needed to build an oral history of his short, violent life.”
So far only two other films have been created from Palahnuik’s work. The critically and commercially acclaimed “Fight Club”, and “Choke”, which was considerably less successful.
Will James Franco be able to deliver another classic like “Fight Club” or will he choke? Only time will tell.
