James Franco to David Letterman: People Want to See Me Nude

If you’ve been keeping up with James Franco, you definitely know about his nudity obsession as of late. Aside from trying to pick up an underaged girl on Instagram and his alarmingly intimate paintings of actor Seth Rogen, Franco’s recently took to Instagram to reveal an almost-nude selfie. While the picture on Instagram is down now, that didn’t stop millions of websites from saving the photograph of the 36-year-old-actor for the world to see.

But why is Franco embracing this borderline creepy self exhibitionism? While Franco was on the Late Show, the subject of his nudes came up and he had a lot to say.

“To me it’s just a fun thing, it’s something I don’t put a ton of thought into, but it gets a lot of attention. I have a lot of followers on Instagram,” Franco explained to Letterman.

The Of Mice and Men star even likened his almost nude to Britney Spears meltdown in 2007.

“Like that Britney Spears shaved head moment, where it’s sort of like, ‘All right, you want me? Here you can have me, but I am going to be really ugly,'” he told Letterman. “You know what I mean?”

He later added, “It’s not like I’m putting that on billboards. Ostensibly Instagram is for my fans. But now all the bloggers are on there so they’ll just take it and use whatever they want.”

The discussion about Franco’s Instagram account ended on a sour note, as he argued that his nude selfie was for only those who wanted to see it… whatever that means.

“I didn’t ask you to look at it! It’s what the people want!” Franco exclaimed.

Late Show Host Letterman could only respond with, “Why is it my fault?I had nothing to do with this.”

“If you don’t want to see it, don’t follow me. Don’t follow me on Instagram,” Franco replied.
