KISS and ‘Family Guy’ Join Forces
KISS is making more money off their branding and merchandise these days than the music that made them famous. With golf courses, cafes, stuffed dolls, and much more, Gene Simmons, Paul Stanley and co. are doing pretty well for themselves. Now, the classic rock band has teamed with one of the world’s most popular animated TV series for a product line launching this fall.
It may seem like an unlikely pairing, but KISS have already made three appearances on their show, with a storyline featuring a relationship between Lois Griffin and Gene Simmons before he was famous.
During an interview with the Hollywood Reporter, Paul Stanley said that the band “are focusing more and more on the upper-tier, blue-chip opportunities for prestige partnerships.” Stanley believes that “Family Guy’s track record and consistent success with its demographic make this match-up ideal.”
The merchandise will include everything from bobbleheads to art prints, with the band rendered in the show’s distinctive style.
