With Passover arriving in just a couple weeks, the LCBO has announced the arrival of 36 new releases amounting to a grand total of 180 kosher products.

The majority of the new “offerings” are wines including chardonnay, cabernet sauvignon, merlot, pinot noir and sauvignon blanc from popular wine-making regions globally such as Israel, France, Italy, Spain, California, Argentina, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, and Chile.

The LCBO’s kosher sections will also include our favourite traditional kosher wines (like Manischewitz), fortified wines, dessert wines, sparking wines, brandy, and vodka, Of the 36 new selections, 10 are being released through the LBCO Vintages fine wine and premium spirits sections, while the other 26 will be stalked in regular kosher sections.

“The quality of kosher wines has evolved in step with changing consumer tastes,” says Bob Downey, Senior Vice President, LCBO Sales & Marketing. “Wine consumers are increasingly looking for high quality and good value so we’ve assembled a diverse assortment of kosher products for Passover that delivers on both counts.”

Although the products will be available in more than 500 stores throughout Ontario, the largest selections are in the GTA at Promenade Mall, Avenue & Wilson, and Dufferin & Wilson.

The LCBO recommends the following kosher products for Passover:

-Cava Brut Castell D’Olerdola from Spain

-Les Floreales Moscato Sparkling and 2010 Barkan Classic Pinot Noir from Israel

-2009 Sauvignon Blanc Louis Blanc KP from France

-2008 Weinstock Cellar Select Cabernet Sauvignon from California’s Napa Valley

-Binyamina liqueurs, including Chocolate, Amaretto and Peach
