Multi-hyphenate Louis C.K. has been taking the entertainment world by storm as of late. He took home a slew of Emmys for his FX show Louie in the fall, has a Golden Globe nomination for Best Performance by an Actor in a Television Series, Comedy, or Musical to be determined on Sunday, and is evidently in talks to join a host of A-listers in David O. Russell’s next film. The Hollywood Reporter reveals that C.K. is in talks to join Russell’s untitled project that already stars Christian Bale, Bradley Cooper, Jeremy Renner, and Amy Adams.

The film chronicles a sting operation in the 1970’s involving a con artist who worked with the FBI to uncover a convoluted corruption case in the U.S. Congress. Although C.K.’ s character is a still under-wrap, he will apparently have a key role in the film. Principle photography on the project is scheduled to commence in February.

C.K. will be seen in Woody Allen’s next film, Blue Jasmine, slated for release sometime in 2013.
