You may remember Travel Channel’s ‘Man vs. Food’ as the show that somewhat resembled a train wreck; you knew you shouldn’t be watching it, you definitely knew you shouldn’t be encouraging the host’s behavior, but you just couldn’t take your eyes off the screen. The host in question is Adam Richman, a foodie and chef that dedicated three seasons to traveling America to partake in eating competitions and restaurant challenges.

After eating a 12-egg omelet, a 7 pound breakfast burrito, a 1 meter long German Bratwurst, 2 gallons of ice cream, a 5 pound Philly cheese steak, 17 pounds of roast pork with sides, and much more, Richman decided to take on the biggest challenge yet: losing all the weight he gained from starring on ‘Man vs. Food’. So far, Man is definitely winning.

Richman has lost 60 pounds since the final episode of his show in April 2012. He has cut down on white flour and dairy, and is exercising more. While filming ‘Man vs. Food’, Richman would eat healthily in between episodes, and then pig out for the show. Richman explained to People magazine that it’s hard to only do the healthy part now.

“The crew got a bunch of pizzas, and it was all I could smell,” he told People magazine.

“It sucked. But I had a Greek yogurt with raw almonds, water and an iced coffee, and I was satisfied.”

Richman added that he doesn’t regret his years with ‘Man vs. Food’ at all.

“Man v. Food was the biggest career-defining opportunity. I went from anonymity to someone of note with access to amazing eateries.”
