What happens when five Lena Dunhams live and work together in a Brooklyn loft? Carroll Simmons’ ‘Too Many Lenas 3: Let Them Eat Cake’ is setting out to answer that very question.

Directed by David Bernstein, ‘Too Many Lenas’ “is a performance piece that imagines five Lena Dunhams living and working together in a Brooklyn loft. Carroll Simmons takes the titular writer, actress and filmmaker as an object of iconic obsession and refracts her persona through the divergent lenses of the six writer-performers. The Five Lenas exist in a frustrated middle ground somewhere between fact and fiction until a cabaret-chanteuse Sixth Lena helps them combine forces with themselves and form a worldwide cult of personality consisting of chronic autobiographers,” according to the show’s website.

Described as “a fevered parody of a generation’s obsession with “relatable” stories exploring the fundamentally human desires buried beneath the ironic artifice of contemporary web-series realism” by BroadwayWorld.com, ‘Too Many Lenas’ will hit the stage at Dixon Place in New York City on June 22nd at 10pm.

‘Too Many Lenas’ stars Sam Corbin, Ali Eagle, Tessa Skara, Haley Traub, and Jamie Wright, and is written by the cast, Brittany Allen and director Davis Bernstein.
