New York Revokes ‘HAMMAS’ License Plate
The Department of Motor Vehicles describes the vanity plate as "patently offensive"

The Department of Motor Vehicles in New York has announced that they are revoking a vanity license plate that reads “HAMMAS,” which was spotted in Brooklyn earlier this week, and will be confiscating it from its owner.
The plate depicts an incorrect spelling of Hamas, the Palestinian terrorist group that preside over Gaza. The vehicle brandishing the plates also featured a Palestinian flag as a windshield cover, according to witnesses, which adds to the strong implication that the owner harbors a pro-terrorist stance.
“We are pulling this plate off the road as patently offensive,” said Jackie McGinnis of New York’s DMV in an official statement. “The group represented by the name on the plate is also on the list of entities designated by the U.S. Government as a terrorist organization.”
While vanity plates that are not obscene or vulgar are allowed in the state, the DMV does have the authorization to remove or revoke any plates that are offensive or incite hatred, which this one obviously does.
The vehicle in question is a black Dodge, which was seen in the neighborhood of Bay Ridge.
As reported by New York Magazine, the letters “AL QASSM” – most likely referring to Hamas’ Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades – were written in red underneath the plates.
Hamas terrorists who are members of these brigades are responsible for numerous terror attacks on Israeli citizens.
According to the DMV, the plate should have never been issued to begin with.
