Turkey's Final Flotilla Report says Israel Violated International Law
Turkey gave its final report on last May’s deadly flotilla incident to the U.N today, concluding Israel shot five Turkish activists at close range and violated international law.
The Associated Press reports that two victims were killed from a helicopter before Israeli soldiers boarded the ship, Mavi Marmara.
The Turkish government report is a stark difference to the Israeli inquiry released last month that said Israel had acted in both self-defense and also in accordance with international law.
The Turkish investigation found that no weapons were on board, though the Israeli report strongly contests that.
Last ship was headed with aid and other supplies to break the blockade in Hamas-controlled Gaza when it was intercepted by the IDF after repeated calls to turn back.
