Gabrielle Giffords Will Be Front and Centre at Husband's Launch
Giffords will attend space shuttle launch this Friday following a remarkable recovery from gunshot to the head
Gabrielle Giffords, the first Jewish congresswoman elected from Arizona who has made a remarkable recovery after being shot in the head in January, 2011, will be in attendance at this Friday’s space shuttle launch in Cape Canaveral, captained by her husband.
Giffords (D-Ariz.) was given the green light to attend by her doctors, according to her husband Mark Kelly.
Kelly is commanding the space shuttle Endeavor’s last mission.
Family members, friends, aides and health workers will join Giffords – who was shot in January – at the launch, According to The New York Times, Giffords’ family and friends, aides and health workers will be at the launch as well, while U.S. President Obama and his family also are scheduled to attend.
