Windsurfer Captures Her Second World Championship
Lee Korzits, 27, competing in the RS:X class, took home top honours in Sunday’s Sailing World Championships in Perth, Australia.
"You have proven your considerable talent,” said a member of Israeli Prime Minister’s office in a celebratory call to Korzits. “ I expect to see you at the London Olympics."
“If I had long arms I’d send them to hug you in the name of all the State of Israel,” Israeli President Shimon Peres said in a call made to congratulate the young athlete. “You fought the wind and beat it with force stronger than any male force – feminine force. You are wonderful. The people love you.”
The victory for Korzits made her a repeat world championship winner. Her first victory world championship was claimed in 2003.
