Hackers Post Israelis’ Credit Card Information on the Internet
Saudi Ring Takes Credit for Cyber Attack
A group of computer hackers claiming to be members of a Saudi hacking ring called Group-XP posted the credit card information of thousands of Israelis on the Internet on January 2, according to credit card companies.
The private information which includes the credit card holders names, addresses and phone numbers were posted on an Israeli sports website, but were removed almost immediately.
Credit card companies say that they did not allow any Internet purchases on the cards in question and that they would issue replacement cards as soon as possible.
The perpetrators of the credit card attack called their efforts a “gift to the world for the New Year” that they hoped “would hurt the Zionist pocket.”
Those responsible also boasted that they compromised 400,000 credit-card holders, but Israel’s central bank claim that number is closer to 15,000.
