Israel is One of America’s Favourite Countries
Israeli FlagThe poll, which released its results this past weekend, showed that Israel came in fifth place on a list of nations viewed most favorably by Americans with only Canada, Great Britain, Germany and Japan finishing ahead of the Israeli state.
In fact, 67 percent of Americans responded favourably about Israel, representing an increase of three percentage points over last year’s poll.
Canada, the Americans’ first choice, garnered an impressive 90 percent approval rating, compared to approval ratings of 87 percent for Britain, 80 percent for Germany, 77 percent for Japan.
And, perhaps not surprisingly with the recent tensions surrounding Iran and its nuclear program, the poll showed that Iran is American’s least favourite country with 87 percent of respondents giving it an unfavourable response.
The nations with the lowest favorability ratings in the poll included Afghanistan at 18 percent, the PA 20 percent, Yemen 21 percent, Iraq 23 percent, Pakistan 23 percent, Cuba 29 percent, and Saudi Arabia 35 percent.
The survey was conducted among 1,025 respondents.
