World Renowned Author and Lecturer Comes to JUMP
Rabbi Akiva Tatz to speak to young professionals about love and dating
On May 23, 2012 at 7:30 pm, JUMP (Jewish Urban Meeting Place) presents Rabbi Akiva Tatz. His lecture, entitled 'Cosmic Love,' will take a look at relationships by acquiring a deeper understanding of how both men and women respond to falling in love.
“Rabbi Tatz is one of the world’s most prolific and electrifying presenters of Jewish concepts," said Rabbi Joel Wardinger, educational instructor at JUMP. "Not only is Rabbi Tatz an expert in medical ethics but has also mastered a unique style of breaking down the most mystical aspects of Judaism for a wide audience. He connects particularly well with young people and JUMP is honoured to host him.”
Rabbi Tatz was born in Johannesburg, South Africa. He studied medicine at the University of Witwatersrand and graduated with distinction in surgery. He moved to Israel where he practiced both in hospital and general medicine in Jerusalem, as well as engaging in Yeshiva study. Rabbi Dr. Tatz founded the Jerusalem Medical Ethics Forum, of which he is Director, for the purpose of teaching and promoting knowledge of Jewish medical ethics internationally.
