Jewish Gymnast, Aly Raisman, Named to Sports Hall of Fame
If you’re one of the countless folks who fell in love with Team USA gymnast Aly Raisman during this summer’s Olympic Games in London, you may not be surprised at the latest honour about to be bestowed on the 18-year-old.

Raisman, a native of Needham, Massachusetts who delivered an unforgettable Gold Medal performance in the floor exercise to the tune of “Hava Nagila”, has been announced as one of eight inductees into the National Jewish Sports Hall of Fame & Museum.

Raisman, who also took home a Bronze Medal for her stellar work on the balance beam, will receive the honour this April in a ceremony at the Hall which is located in Commack, New York.

One of the eight other inductees named to the Hall, David Berger, will be honoured posthumously. Berger was a member of the ill-fated 1972 Israeli Olympic team in Munich, and was one of the “Munich 11” to be killed by terrorists.
