The former congresswoman tells 50 Cent she’ll do a better job than him at throwing the first pitch.

Gabrielle Giffords Throws Out First Pitch, Teases 50 Cent

On Wednesday, former Arizona congressman Gabrielle Giffords, has an important message to share with her loyal online followers: her health is continuing to improve, and she can throw a baseball better than 50 Cent.

In 2011, Giffords was injured critically after being hit with a bullet during a mass shooting that left six dead. Her health has improved substantially over the past 3 years, leading up to yesterday’s momentous occasion. Giffords threw out the first pitch at the annual Congressional Women’s Softball Game, which sees the women of congress playing against female journalists.

You may remember a few weeks back when 50 Cent threw out the first pitch at a New York Mets game, causing extreme embarrassment when the ball flew towards first base. The event has gone down as the one of worst first pitches in history.

Giffords was feeling very confident and playful prior to the game, taking to Twitter to playfully tease rapper 50 Cent.

.@50cent, bet you my first pitch will be better than yours was, ”Giffords tweeted.

Turns out she was right! Giffords threw the ball perfectly straight, making it remarkably close to the home plate.
