Omri Casspi & the Houston Rockets Get in the Hanukkah Spirit [VIDEO]

Well, this is turning out to be quite the annual tradition.

Last year, many were delightfully surprised when the Houston Rockets released a video that featured their star players singing a loose rendition of the “Dreidel Song.”

This year, the Rockets are at it again, and with the addition of Israeli NBA star Omri Casspi – the first Israeli to play in the league, Gal Mekel is the second – you’d think they’d do an even better job.

Apparently, though, Casspi is only familiar with the Hebrew version.

Regardless, he’s certainly getting into the Chanukah spirit and may be doing so all the way to the White House. According to Ynet News, “Casspi will soon replace his Rockets jersey with a festive suit and travel from Texas to Washington after being invited to the White House to meet President Barack Obama and light Hanukkah candles, as part of the White House’s traditional-symbolic menorah lighting ceremony.”

On the occasion, Casspi said, “I’m so excited. A dream come true to be invited to the White House…I will represent Israel and the Jewish community.”

Casspi is also going to take his mother along for the lighting, who is flying in to be with her son during the holidays. Of course, she never banked on also meeting the president at the same time.

Watch him, Dwight Howard, James Harden, Jeremy Lin and the gang sing the “Dreidel Song” below, 2013 edition:
