German comic book author, Walter Moers, has launched a crowd funding campaign to raise money for a feature film version of his controversial, yet wildly popular, comic series entitled ‘Adolf’.

Moers’ ‘Adolf’ comics follows the Fuhrer decades after he emerges from hiding as he attempts to assimilate to the modern world.

The first book in the ‘Adolf’ series, ‘Adolf, die Nazisau’ (‘Adolf, the Nazi Sow’) was a bestseller in Germany upon its release in 1998.

An animated video, released in 2006, based on the ‘Adolf’ series was a viral sensation, accumulating over 20 million views.

Now, Moers has joined forces with producer, David Grownewold, to raise funds for a feature length ‘Adolf’ film. A teaser video for the film was released on Monday, showing the big-nosed Adolf addressing a huge crowd of Nazi supporters, only to discover that he forgot to put on his pants.

To date, producers have raised $6,000 from just 137 supporters.
