2014 is only four months in, but it’s already looking to be a momentous year for ‘Saturday Night Live’ alum, Seth Meyers.
Shortly after leaving the legendary sketch comedy series, he was given reigns as host of NBC’s ‘Late Night’. Now, the network has announced that Meyers will be taking on yet another huge hosting role, the 2014 Emmy Awards.
“Seth’s expertise and ease in front of a live audience during his time at ‘SNL,’ as well as his comedic brilliance both as a writer and in front of the camera on ‘SNL’ and ‘Late Night,’ makes him the perfect choice to host the Emmys,” said NBC’s President of Late Night and Alternative Programming, Paul Telegdy.
The upcoming Emmys hosting gig, scheduled to air on August 25th, will be Meyers’ awards ceremony hosting debut.
The Emmys are in their 66th year and recognize the best of television.
