No soup For You!

Al Yaganeh, the real-life inspiration behind Seinfeld‘s infamous “Soup Nazi” character known today as The Original Soup Man, is coming to Israel to participate in a three-day food festival in June, which will be held across the country.

Originally from Iran, Yaganeh opened his first restaurant, Soup Kitchen International, in Manhattan in 1984. He has since opened several franchises in Canada and the US, including four in Manhattan. Obviously, the demand for his soup exploded following the Seinfeld episode, which many agree is one of the show’s best episodes.

According to The Original Soup Man, Yaganeh offers 45 varieties of “art, not soup” made from “miraculously fresh ingredients.”

The site also provides a list of rules that must be adhered to when ordering soup:

PICK THE SOUP YOU WANT!

HAVE YOUR MONEY READY!

MOVE TO THE EXTREME LEFT AFTER ORDERING!

Capitalized, underlined, and exclamationized (I made up a word. I’m ok with that) just like that.

The festival is hosted by Pepsi Max and focuses on popular Israeli street food such as shawarma and falafel – and now “art, not soup” as well.

Just keep the line moving to the extreme left guys, or………..
