The Ten Best Jewish Ice Bucket Challenges
From Drake to Adam Sandler, here are some of the best challenges we’ve seen that benefit the ALS Foundation

Say what you want about the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge, but, according to a report published yesterday, the A.L.S. Foundation has announced they’ve raised $41 million between July 29th and August 21st for amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (better known as Lou Gehrig’s Disease), more than double the amount that was raised during the entire year of 2013.
The #IceBucketChallenge has evolved into possibly the biggest hashtag philanthropist trend ever, with literally EVERYONE in popular culture taking part, whether celebrities, former Presidents (I’m looking at you George W.), musicians, politicians, government officials, and basically every one of your Facebook friends.
As the New York Times reports, more than 739,000 new donors have given money to the Washington-based nonprofit foundation that funds global research in a bid to find a cure for the disease. Currently, 30,000 Americans suffer from A.L.S., a disease that attacks the nerve cells and leads to total paralysis (while the mind stays intact).
Among the noted celebrities and pop cultural icons that have taken part of the trend are several Jewish men and women, who have donated heavily to A.L.S., and have, of course, also poured a bucket of ice-cold water down their heads.
Mind you, some have also done their own variations of the challenge, which you will notice at our look of some of the best Jewish ice bucket challenges that we’ve seen so far:
10.
Gwyneth Paltrow
Paltrow’s challenge is your standard affair, but she does deserve bonus points for challenging ex-hubby Chris Martin, showing that they’re still friends despite their conscious uncoupling, and the fact that he’s now dating IT girl Jennifer Lawrence.
9.
Adam Levine
Levine did his challenge while showing solidarity with fellow The Voice star Blake Shelton, and Carson Daly.
8.
Mayim Bialik
We are huge Mayim Bialik supporters, as she makes everything she does look absolutely adorable.
7.
Adam Sandler
Gotta love Sandler’s presentation here, and also the fact that he challenges Shaq, Betty White and Macaulay Culkin, perhaps the most eclectic bunch we’ve seen nominated together for a challenge.
6.
Amy Schumer
It seems comedian Amy Schumer didn’t get the memo, pouring a ‘bucket’ of clam chowder down her head instead of ice water.
