Slowly, but steadily approaching is actor Zach Braff’s upcoming film Wish I was Here. Just a little over a month away, Braff’s Kickstarter funded feel-good comedy will be landing in theatres this summer, July 18th.

Recently revealed were the colourful film posters for Wish I Was Here, featuring Kate Hudson smiling into the distance, Joey King sporting a bright pink wig and Braff in a cool pair of shades holding a swear jar under his arm. In the background of the main cast, you also get a glimpse of Zach Braff in a space suit.

The comedy about Aidan Bloom, a struggling actor trying to find his place in life with his family, cost around $3 million and was funded entirely through a Kickstarter campaign.

“If this is the test case for this way of financing a movie, I want to set the bar really, really high,” Braff told E! last August.

Co-star Josh Gad was very surprised by the idea and the outcome of a Kickstarter funded film.

“What fascinated me more than anything was the process of this Kickstarter campaign and getting the money through crowd-funding. It really does real like you’re making a movie for the people,” Gad told E!

Also starring alongside Braff are Mandy Patinkin, Ashley Green, Jim Parsons and Braff’s best buddy and fellow Scrubs actor Donald Faison.
