Remember when Goosebumps came out with their ‘Choose Your Own Adventure’ series that let you, the reader, be the decider of your protagonist’s fate; whether you wanted to lead him/her to his/her untimely demise, or to the secret mystery door that unlocks another portal, was entirely up to you.Of course, you could keep your finger on the page if you weren’t entirely pleased with your choice, but that wouldn’t work well in real life, would it? You should stick to your decisions.
Interlude, founded by Israeli-born entrepreneurs Yoni Bloch (a former musician and co-founder/CEO), Barak Feldman (co-founder and COO) and Tal Zubalskly (co-founder, VP of Production), provides a very similar experience to its users with its product Treehouse, but through video, completely altering the way we ingest content in video format, likely to usher in a new era of music videos, online commercials, and, inevitably, television and film.
Nowadays, in an information age where a tablet, smartphone and Netflix isn’t enough to distract one tech-savvy consumer, companies in the high-tech sector are constantly looking for ways to keep their users engaged. Developing interactive elements into their products, forcing the user to stay in tune, are often key. Interlude utilizes this aspect in spades, allowing its clients to develop videos that are interactive, engaging, exciting and possibly even surprising.
No longer do you just need to sit there and watch your favourite Youtube videos. Now, thanks to Treehouse’s dynamic platform, you can be a part of them.
“Interlude videos are interactive, engaging and completely seamless, offering a multi-layered video experience for the digital age,” reads a statement from the company’s official website. According to an interview with CEO Yoni Bloch, a well-known musician in Israel who has climbed the ladder of the country’s thriving technology sector since starting Interlude in 2010, the company allows consumers to create interactive videos in ‘real time’, allowing them to develop ‘unique and dynamic’ versions of a video based on pre-recorded audio/video segments.
